Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a water-holding molecule, able to hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. Naturally found in skin, it plays an important role in supporting the structure of the skin, keeping it firm and elastic through the preservation of collagen and its anti-oxidant capacity. Some would argue that HA is even more important than collagen in keeping skin looking young and fresh. Different sizes of Hyaluronic Acid molecules will play different roles in skin care.
