Echinacea Meristem Concentrate
Origin: Plant and Biotech
INCI: Echinacea Angustifolia Meristem Cell Culture
Echinacea is a member of the daisy family but is technically classed as an herb. Originally native to Eastern and Central North America, Echinacea’s flowers, roots and leaves were being used 400 years ago by Native Indians to treat a wide range of conditions including bites, inflammatory skin conditions and wounds. Early settlers carried on the practice of using Echinacea and right up until 1950 it was listed as an official drug in the US. It was only with the advent of antibiotics that its popularity started to wane.
To this day it is still one of the best-selling herbs in the world, a testament to its continued success in alleviating and treating a wide range of conditions and symptoms, most famously the common cold, bites, acne and infections. Echinacea Meristem Concentrate is rich in phytochemicals including flavonoids, polysaccharides and echinacoside and it is thought to be able to stimulate the immune system whilst acting as an effective anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and natural antibiotic. In vitro tests give Echinacea Meristem Concentrate impressive results: a significant ability to inhibit Collagenase (enzymes that break the peptide bonds in collagen) by up to 94%, and stimulating new collagen production by +24%.
Why It's Pure
The purest form of Echinacea Meristem Concentrate is preserved using HTN™ technology, which naturally isolates the main actives and preserves them sustainably, without chemical additives.
Why It's Tech
HTN™ technology preserves and amplifies the most powerful actives from Echinacea’s stem cells: echinacoside, chlorogenic acid, cynarin, and 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity and phytosterols, amino acids and polysaccharides to moisturize and nourish the skin.
Why It's Beauty
Clinical studies have consistently shown that Echinacea extract applied regularly to the skin will result in a significant reduction in lines and wrinkles.
